Strength of b18C(for dc2 type R) at 130,000KM
guys
i might buy an integra type R(year 2000) which has done 130,000Km.Average mileage per year in Australia is like 20,000KM per year so it is like 1 year over.
Does anyone have an ITR of 130,000KM and above?
Any problems?
What should I have checked during inspection?
Cylinder compression, guys? Hmmm. what's the optimal compression pressure for each cylinder for the b18c?
Sorry for asking these basic questions guys, but i have just sold my old car and wanna be a honda driver
thank you

I guess I'll bite while I wait for my soup to cool.....
The first thing you want to check to see is if the car has been maintained by the dealership. If it has been, then there should be a record of its history.
It should look something like this:
http://www.itrca.com/FAQ/maintenance/maint.php
If you do NOT know the maintenance history perhaps you should reconsider. Several main things to look for would be to see if the timing belt has been replaced (requires valve cover to be removed) and also take into consideration the water pump and oil pump.
130,000kms (81,250miles) is not exactly a lot, but you may want to budget a clutch into the final purchase price. (Usually about $1000cad at the stealership)
A compression check as you mentioned is a good idea, as is a leak down test. Numbers are dependent on the gauge being used, but try and shoot for even numbers all across....variation up to 10% is acceptable....but be suspect if the compression numbers are "low" (Anything under 150 on a decent gauge is suspect IMO....I happened to make 180-185 on my gauge)
Good luck.....

The engine shouldn't be a problem if it's properly taken care of --> normal service.
Testing compression is a good idea:

What you should worry about is the drivetrain. A common problem is especially 3. gear syncro failure. You should also listen to any noises from the tranny that shouldn't be there. If the tranny is unusually loud it might be worn out.
I've also seen a lot of clutch problems. The stock clutch usually fails after about 100000km or so. Clutch master and slave cylinders do this often as well.
So be **** about checking anything drivetrain related.
