Default Toda B cam information!!

Toda B cam information!!
My vtec point is 5900rpm and my mate got 7300rpm when vtec kick in.

What is your vtec point? when i adjust the cam gear, do i need to change the vtec point as well?

Edward's talking bout my car, crossover is at 7300rpm.

That dip pre-VTEC I think can be fixed, looks like the VTEC fuel added value is too high in the AEM EMS so its got a rich spot at VTEC crossover. Also need to do a cam gear tune. Will the cam gear positioning affect the optimal VTEC crossover point?

N.B. This is a dyno dynamics dyno and reads lower than US dynos, FWIW a stock dc2r makes around 92kw on this dyno.

This is what I've heard too, apparently optimum crossover is between 6500-7400 rpm.

What I'm trying to find out is how the cam gear settings affect the optimum VTEC crossover point. I think my cam gears are both advanced a little, so is this the reason for the crossover being best set at 7300 rpm? Will retarding the exhaust cam lower the best VTEC crossover point?

Is it different cam gear setting with different vtec kick-in point?

My thoughts exactly. My tuner has made many suggestions as to my setup, and is very experienced and reputable, so I take it with confidence.

Mine used to be 5800 setup by Tuner..
but I dont know. some of my friends using Toda B are hitting Vtec on 6500 in avg.
I play with Power FC commander a bit and setted it on 6000 now.. wonder if I want to tune it myself and try different setting.

Moreover.. dod the VTEC kick-in Sound DISAPPEAR after you got the cams? Mine is gone ...

Btw, my setup is Toda B, Cam Gears, Toda Egg shape springs, Toda Head Gasket and Toda timing belt..440cc fuel injectors..Sard fuel regulator at 300 kpa. wonder if it affects anything on setting up

When I changed cat-back from 5zigen(no cat.) to Mugen(high flow cat), my v-tec sound also disappeared.
I think the sound of vtec depends on your exhaust.

fwiw, my spec c's had very similar powerbands with the vtec crossover at 5600 and 6800... With the higher crossover, there was slightly more area under the curve, so we left it there.....

But you can't really hear my crossover at all - because that is a function of the cams due to the primaries being so big... it just spits a bit and keeps pulling hard...

Don't worry about the lack of noise to indicate crossover - it's a smooth transition to vtec, that's why there's no kick.....

If you want to feel/ hear a serious kick for vtec, try jun 3's.....!
