B20b in my EK....automatic?
Tried this in the hybrid forum, but that forum is DEAD so I thought i'd try here...
Ok, I drive an auto civic hatch. I know, its not the best platform to work with, but its what I have and im not planning to convert - in fact, I like the auto. It's very reliable, its drivable by anyone in my family, and its easy to sell when it comes time to do so. I'm very familiar with manual transmissions, drove one for years, and know the ease in doing a swap with a manual tranny, but its not going to happen this time.
My question for you guys is this:
One of my good friends here tried to install an engine into an EK, but had some trouble with it as it would not shift. I'm a little worried that there is something restrictive that won't allow swaps, but im sure someone has gotten around it.
Here's the planned setup:
OBDII B20b CRV motor
JDM automatic B16a2 or GS-R transmission
Integra RS/LS (non-vtec) ECU
Can anyone tell me why this swap WOULDN'T work? Or if I should know something before I start? Thanks in advance.

it will work. my buddy swap one in a 92-95 coupe for his girl to drive with a ls auto tranny and it wasnt too impressive compared to the stock z6.
imo its too much time and money just to have an auto b series that rides like a stock ex motor.

I think your problem is with the tranny. I'm going to be using a shorter geared tranny (likely the jdm gs-r w/lsd) so it should be very noticable - especially in a stock DX hatch...
