which 4-1 fits my b16 hatch
i want to get a 4-1 for my b16 ef...especially since my dc sports got two mean dents in em...but i was checkin it out and there isnt really too much clearance between the block and radiator...what are some good designs...any body got any personal experience
I *think* my DC 4-1 fits with the stock front cross member, but the car is too torn apart right now to tell for sure. I'm sure someone on here could verify though.
ok so my header isn't actually bolted onto the block but I stuck a block of wood to hold it closer to where it would be if it was bolted. There is like 1/2" of a gap between the header and the cross member. Thing is I put the crossmember on after the header, so I don't know if you would be able to install the header with crossmember in place.

I never realized that clearances were so tight with EFs, I took a look at my header a minute ago and it fit pretty good, I don't know what the hell it is though, but this is on my LS. I'll ask my buddies with B16 EFs and see what they're running

running a single o2 sensor...car runs rich but thats mostly due to vafc tuning...i just met this guy the other day and i was lookin at some of his welding work and its awesome so im gonna ask him to weld in a second o2 bung for my new header..unless it already has two...
I've heard good things from people I know with the AN-R header, actually, but never had experience w/ it myself. I'll take that into consideration when I get rid of the piece of junk on mine.
I've asked this question before, but figured it might be answered better in this thread - I have an LS swap w/ header, will an exhaust made to fit my car fit fine w/ swap? Do I have to modify it, or what? Can I buy an exhaust made for EF hatch w/ swap? Do I need to run a cat?

From what I understand, yes. I have an aftermarket x-member, but I am about 99% positive it would work. You can IM user anr008 his name is andrew and he can let you know for sure.

From everything i've read and from other's experiences, An-R or Bisi headers are the way to go for clearance issues. they might make similar popular as your hytech, spoon, DC (maybe a tad less) BUT at least you're not beating it up on the rough roads.
Other option is to add a skid plate to your header.

Just some advice......i also had the same headers with the same problem. My headers looked just like yours, with the two dents on the bottom of the headers from bottoming out on ****. When i took mine off, the studs for the headers on the head were extremely loose, meaning that the headers were off and i could hand turn the studs on some of them. Guessing that since the headers were being banged around it loosened the studs
well at this point its pretty much a toss up between the an-r compact and the spark racing 4-2-1...i havent seen any dyno graphs for the an-r yet on a b16 but that spark racing 4-2-1 is making sum sick numbers...im still deciding
yeah that dc is is junk...i probably would make better numbers with a stock manifold..
