I replaced my b18 motor in my teg cause it had 200000+ miles on it and it wouldnt pass smog,in cali of course.I Just took it down to the smog shop and it still doesnt pass.I didnt replace any smog parts hoping it was engine related,but now i know it isnt.It was strange ,I refueled before the smog check,and i filled the tank all the way or i thought it was full because the pump kept stopping and it spewed fuel out.But i only filled the tank 3/4 full and it wouldnt let me put more in.Then on the way to the smog station the CEL came on and the ECU read code 43,a Fuel supply system problem.I havent noticed any loss of power or anything,but the smog tech said he couldnt get the idle to go down.Does anyone know if this code could be the reason my car is a gross polluter?Or any smog parts i should check ?Thanks.

 

200,000 is a lot of miles on a lot of parts. When you swpaed the motor did you swap anything else?? Fuel filter? O2's? Cat's??

If you did not swap the fuel filter i would start there. It could also be the fue pump dieing. Does the car sputter or want to stall out?

 

Yes i replaced the fuel filter,plugs ,cap ,rotor,dizzy,exaust manifold,o2,didnt do the cat ,iwas told it was good,didnt do the injectors ,cleaned them ,they looked good.The car runs great its just a gross polluter.
