Please Help
I just helped a friend install a custom Drag Gen 3 turbo kit (Tial 35mm wastegate /.4 bar spring) on a 00' GSR with Hondata Stage 2 w/ boost, RC 440's, B&M FPR, and Blitz: SBC ID / Power Meter ID / FATT. After the install I took the car for a test drive and it went into boost and never stopped, I shut it down at about 11psi. Pulled over and check the setting on the boost controller and it was set a 7psi. So I checked all the connections and re-did the vacuum hoses. I took the car out again and the same results happened, boosted up to 10psi. I took the car back in and start checking the wastegate seemed fine, for good measure I swapped his out for mine and the same results happened I hit 11psi again. So I ask my friend if he set up the boost controller the right way and asked him for the manual. I looked at the manual and it's in Japanese (that really helped) so I took it to a shop and they said that I had to calibrate the boost controller. So I tried to do that and failed (I found the Apexi AVC-R easier to work with), not really experienced when it comes to electronics. So we decided to just have a shop deal with it when we bring it in to be dyno tuned. So we bring it in to the shop and they say its calibrated and all the connections and vacuum hoses seem to be in order. So I start getting pumped to see what my friend's car pulls on the dyno and we discover a fat *** exhaust leak, WTF so it only made 4.5psi(baseline of 190HP/140TQ) of boost instead of 8.5psi. So they set the fuel and timing maps for 8.5psi. So we take the car back home and fix the exhaust leak (3 of 4 turbo to manifold bolts came loose). I take it out for a test drive again and this time it would not boost pass 3psi. I take the car back and checked everything again. I took of the BOV because I thought it might be staying open and letting boost escape, then I took apart the wastegate and gave Tial a call. Everything seems to be in order. So last night we take the car out to run it, but this time I started playing around with the boost controller while my friend drove the car and I switched the setting form external wastegate to aculator and that seem to work. The car hit 6psi in second gear. Came up to a stop light, floored it and in first the car hit 1.7psi, 2nd it hit 2.7psi, and in third it hit 3psi at about 5000rpm and stayed there all the way till redline, WTF. Can someone please help me out, thanks? Sorry for the long post, but I had to explain every thing
