Ls Oil Pump?
I got an Ls oil pump from ebay, it was used but looked almost brand new
will this pump work well with a all motor setup, or does a gsr or type r oil pump work alot better?
I will be using a 95mm stroker crank, gsr eagle rods, and arias 12.5:1 psitons 82mm

if u want to.....but think about the last time the ls block was in a production vehicle....so any pump youve got is at least 4 years old.....
but it seems like u know what your talking about and that youve already made ur decision

im sayin that a brand new oil pump , leaves u with one less thing to worry about.....im not sure what year they all started having the same oil pumps for b series but a used ls pump from ebay gives me the *******

just buy a new oil pump, or at least one you know where it has been and has very low miles. DONT RUN A USED PUMP THAT YOU DONT KNOW WHERE IT HAS BEEN. take our advise, or dont, its your motor.

the point we are both trying to make is it is just not worth it.

All OBD-II oil pumps are the same!!!! PERIOD!
If you have an LS oil pump before then, than it is weak compared to the B16 or GSR pumps. If it is newer then dont worry about it, but I would have bought one new!
Depending on what water pump you use you will have to use the proper timing belt. So I say go GSR waterpump and timing belt!
What block is all of this going into? What stroker crank are you going to use?

a 95mm crank? goodness, have fun with that...
If you're using that kind of crank then you must be building on heck of an engine. Would you trust it to an ebay pump? spend the extra money and get a brand new one to protect your investment.
Or you could replace the gears with a Toda pump gear... http://www.inlinefour.com/todb16aboilp.
I'd rather buy three brand new pumps.

I believe it is a remanufactured h22 crank, with rod journals ground to ls size, im sending it out to get knife edged right now, ill be running the eagle h beam gsr rods on it so i will most likely need a deck plate.

interesting! Never heard that one before! I have heard on H22 crank being machined and put in K-series motors, and I have heard of the old Prelude B20 + B21 cranks being machined to be used in beseries, but not H-series crank into B-series!

The ls oil pump gear is thinner than the gsr/type r gears. Do not use that pump.
BTW, you can't just add a deck plate to your block and you will probably need custom rods to make them fit into a gsr
