Whaddya think guys.. i have a CW 01 w/white wheels.. im really diggin the gunmetal colour it comes with on the yellow ones... whaddya gyus think? would it look better white/black?

Anynoe here from the GTA area that has a place that can match the paint ??

You should leave them the stock colour, and type out all the words that you guys spell differently from us Americans.

But seriously, leave them CW. The stock GM looks like butt on the white ITRs IMO.

i would leave them CW...if you want that gunmetal, just buy a spare set. they are fairly cheap

Agreed. Leave them.

If you want GM wheels, look for a set for sale on TorontoIntegras, TorontoCivics, of the Canadian Classifieds on ClubSI, and alternate between both sets.

I believe there was a GM set w/ rubber for sale two weeks or so ago on TCC for about $600 CAD.

 

Paint 'em PY. I have yet to see this. Maybe because it would be hideous...

i just bought a set of stock itr wheels that are gunmetal for mine and i think that they look great but if i decide to change i always have the CW, so i would just buy another set. just my opinion.

You guys sure about the CW??? alright il take your word guys :D... it was just a thought i had ever since i also see the type-s RSX w/gunmetal wheels (they come like that here ni canada) :D

I painted mine GM and now I am painting them CW again . however I use the R rims for track.

Dont like the GM on the CW caR anymore. Looks sweeter with CW rims.

I was the only CW-R with stock Gun-Metal wheels at expo. I purchased them b/c i think they look awesome on CW and b/c my race pads dust like very badly and at extremely hott temps it bakes the dust onto your wheels badly. Buying the GMs was done on purpose to preserve my very minty Champ White wheels.

I think Honda got it right.

CW looks best with CW wheels.
PY looks best with GM wheels.
FBP/NHBP looks best with GM wheels.

What's your evidence on this? Obviously Honda doesn't make proper wheel color recommendations for track use. If they had, they would have picked a flat black or darker gunmetal.

So I should run OEM brake pads and fluid with a race prepped ITR because thats what Honda recommends? And, you'll probably be so bold as to say I should use 5w30 because Acura recommends it?

Honda switched from the CW rims to gunmetal rims on the USM ITR for the 2000 model year because they wanted to design the car for the track. Ayrton Senna was testing it at Meadowdale the previous year and noticed how visible the brake dust formed on the wheels, so that's why they changed it. At least, that's what Soichiro Honda told me last week at a track event at Bridgehampton.

and yeah, i gotta wash my wheels ever other day... lots of brake dust/junk,... its a BEOTCH cleaning! so is a white car in a rural area.. BUGS OWN ME :D i gotta drive real slow thru the bush..
