Expo 5 Recap. Yeah pics too.
It's been a week since Expo and I've been lazy to post up pics and give a little recap of my weekend. It was a lot of fun and great combination of weather. I enjoyed the wet track as much as I did the dry.
Even tho we have said it enough times, I still want to thank the organizers and sponsors for putting the event together. I also want to thank Migs for his contribution in sponsoring and making the event happened. I didn't realize how much he did at the beginning stage until Wes mentioned it at the banquet.
The Spoon car was running healthy all weekend, a blast to drive and felt pretty quick. I was running a weird tire setup: F205 Toyo RA1 and R205 Avon Tech-R. The first time those Toyos saw the track was Expo 02 (yup Expo 02 at Gingerman!!). Since they had always been my rear tires on my staggered setup, they lasted forever. So I decided to put them on front just to wear them out. And surprisingly they still stuck pretty well. If I ran my race setup F225 R205 Avons, I should be able to gain a few ticks in several corners, especially the long corners like T3, T5-T6 and T7-T8.
It was nice meeting a lot of new and old friends. It really was what made the event enjoyable. And I also made a couple "unusual" friends -- 2 Harley guys who were drag racing at the strip next to our main straight. They came over on Sunday, looked for my car, and asked if they could get a ride. I was pleasantly surprised by their request because I thought they would never be interested in our little Hondas. They kept saying it looked so fast and so much fun out there and they wanted to get a feel of it. However, it started raining again and I already had other Expo'ers asked for rides. My sessions were all filled so I had to turn the Harley guys down.
Did anyone take pics of those 2 guys?

Wai,
Thanks a million for letting me drive the sp00n kaa. 4th gear (which is what I used for the entire course, the entire session except pit in/out) was more than enough for me!
Ryan wishes he could figure out RHD like I did (i.e., easily).
Fantastic car. Big giant grin the entire time. Makes me want an ATS LSD, and a 2400ish lb car with that fantastic seat/wheel/tach. Oh ****, thats almost 1000 lbs off of the Prelude AT&T(s)
chris - who plans on a stripped/stock power EF or maybe some pinstriped EG for next year... track only car (drive to/from b/c im a cheap no towing ****)
