Clifford Avatguard 4 Brain Failure?
I parked my car Saturday night around 3 AM, armed it as usual. Didn't touch it until about 5 PM Sunday.
I disarm, get in, turn the key and the ignition cycles on and off. Like this:
ON--------ON---------ON---------ON----------ON--------ON---------ON---------ON
About off for two or 3 seconds and on for about .5 seconds.
Anyone know if this is brain failure? It was 90 degree out on Sunday and my car is black, so its possible that the heat could have caused some damage.

Heat is one of the things that can have a neg. effect on the alarm brain, that's why they tell you not to mount the brain close to a heat source.

Do you have an ign. kill/bypass wired to the alarm, if so and it is wired for normally open, it may be a bad relay or a poor connection from the alarm to the relay, or a poor 12v+ connection to the relay.

Its a Clifford AG4 system. Its got all its relay's built in. This is why I think its the brain that went. It goes on and off in a very systematic / rythmic way, suggesting to me that its not something mechanical.

There are no off-board relays in the alarm installation except for the one to trigger my 555U module and clutch during remote start. I know this because I installed it myself. I was trying to think of any kind of input that would cause the clifford to do this and could not think of anything.
I sent the unit out to Clifford yesterday after talking with their tech support who told me to send the brain in for a check. Hopefully this will fix my problem.

Thanks,
They fixed it under warranty. I think it was my intellistart that actually failed, but they replaced both free of charge other than the shipping costs to them, which work paid for anyway...
To whoever PM'ed me. I lost your screen name because HT removed it from the history. Thanks for the offer. Good luck with eBay.
