Default Best Lowering Springs

I am in the market for new springs for my cd5 and I was wondering which ones are any good. I have heard Neuspeed Sports are pretty good.

Tokico HP suspension kit is by far the best setup I have ever had.

Its a 1.5" drop with tokico springs and tokico blue struts.

It rides better than stock and handles like its on rails.

Sportlines and Koni Yellows for me. Upgrading to G/C coils though.

i to have H & R 1.5 drop and for the most part i like them.

but in the rear, whenever I hit a bump or hole (have to drive down dirt roads) it makes a CLUNK sound. and on the right rear side, the wheel is not straight up and down like on the driver, but its leaning(just a few degrees)..and is lower than the rest of the car (1/2-3/4)

so i dunno if its the spring bottoming out or if the camber/caster is out or the shock is bad..or all.

but it does ride nice even w/35 series

I have the Neuspeed Sports with GR2's and that is not only a good handling car, but it sits aggressively and rides amazingly. Ive had ground control suspension, sprint springs, ive had eibach and i've had intrax, and i have to admit, of all the sets of lowering springs/sleeves ive encountered, it would have to be between Eibach and Neuspeed.

I suggest you first figure out a few exact setups then search out people with your car and those setups.

before you buy anything, first figure out what your going to be using the car for. daily driving, autox, drag, ect. Different springs will be better suited for each. You don't want too stiff of a spring for daily use (unless you don't mind the ride and your local roads are in good condition) and you wouldn't want to soft of a spring for autox and that.

On my Accord I had Tokico blues with Eibach Pro-Kits and absolutely loved them. Didn't drop the car to much but just enough for me, had nice ride quality even on the crappy roads here in MI and the handled very well. Due to the roads here and the fact the Accord was my daily driver I didn't want anything real stiff and these fit the bill nicely.

On my Civic hatch now, I have Tokico blues and Nuespeed. The ride is very close to the same quality. My Civic rolls a little more through some turns but I think that has more to do with the fact it doesn't have front or rear sway bars like the Accord did.

Overall, I like both setups and would recommend either of them for daily use.

Eibach Sportline, Neuspeed, Tanabe .. your gonna be impressed with most name brands as long as you get the right drop your looking for and match them with some decent shocks.

this guy is a noob. blues are OEM replacements. and the 1.5 inch drop that comes in the package aren't stiff @ all.

they are by far, not even close to the "Best lowering springs"

btw. how low do you wanna go?

really, then whats that make you? I mean, this guy has been here longer than you, just doesn't post as often. Post counts don't mean much.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by TeaAddict &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">blues are OEM replacements.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I'm not claiming to know a lot about the Tokico blues (even though I've had them on my Accord and now on my Civic) but on their site it doesn't say anything about them being their OEM replacements. However, it does say "The blue units are TOKICO's HP series of premium non-adjustable performance shocks and struts. They are designed to offer superior performance and traction with ride quality that is equal to or superior to the original ride."

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by TeaAddict &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">and the 1.5 inch drop that comes in the package aren't stiff @ all.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I don't believe thats what he said. I think you just read into that a little too far. He was simply expressing how much he felt the ride improved over stock. It's not like he came out and said "these are some really stiff springs yo".

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by TeaAddict &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">they are by far, not even close to the "Best lowering springs"</TD></TR></TABLE>

Again, thats not what he said. He said "Tokico HP suspension kit is by far the best setup I have ever had." That doesn't mean they are the "Best lowering springs", just simply means they are the best he has had so far. He's just sharing his experience with that setup.

Sorry for picking your post apart but you sorta did the same, just without all the quotes. That and the fact that I felt you took things different from what he had said. If you don't feel his setup is a good one then thats fine, but next time either keep it to yourself or express your thoughts without coming off sounding like a dick. Try more to give someone constructive criticism than to bash on them.

"Best lowering springs" do not exist. It's all a matter of opinion, b/c, as TouringAccord has mentioned, it depends on what you are using the car for. For daily drivers, I would probably go with either Neuspeed or Eibach. If I did a lot of autocrossing, I'd probably go with something a lot stiffer, maybe Ground Control with custom rates or a full-coilover setup.

proud owner of B&G race springs
progressive spring rates like eibach, but a little stiffer than sportlines.
car is dropped 1.7'' front and rear on kyb GR-2 shocks. great ride quality, but stiff enough to have some fun on a two lane backroad.
my accord is a 96, where as my window tinter at the shop has a 00 4 cylinder with eibach sportlines. the difference in ride quality is huge. i didnt notice a difference in stock ride quality and with the B&G, where the eibach seems harsh in comparison.

check em out, i love my springs.

ive got a 6th gen, im going with the eibach pro kit, im looking for a hard as ride, just a better look with increased handling and not bouncy, yet not rock hard.

pro kit gives you a 1.5 inch drop front and rear

Got the Neuspeed sports on my cd7 and love em. Aggressive stance without to much difference in the ride quality.

eibach sportlines with kyb agx's love the ride and not too low where you have to worry about scraping everywhere.

I never said that they are stiff... They are actually quite soft and I love that. My car is my daily driver and I really didn't want to feel every little pebble in the road.

The handling is dramatically better than the stock stuff that came on the car, sure it isn't a Tein coil over setup....but like I said before its a daily driver.

Also the blues are not OEM replacements. Ask yourself this... If they were OEM replacements then why would they sell them with lowering springs in a complete kit.
If they were OEM they would blow sooner then non OEM when installed with lowering springs.
