Coil issues...
I keep burning up coils in my '91 CRX Si.... A6 block, Y8 head, NGK plugs, Accel plug wires, brown ignitor...
I put a new coil in my car about 2 months ago. It just died going down the road. Ok, fixed, those go out sometimes...
Maybe a month later, it went out again going down the road. Replaced it, everything was fine. Thinking that maybe the original black ignitor had something to do with it (had some bucking issues also), I replaced it with the brown ignitor. Everything was fine, the bucking issue was resolved.
Today, it did it again. Drove fine, parked it at the Honda dealership (hmm the irony) to get some parts, and it wouldn't start.
Whats the deal?? I put in new plugs just this weekend, the plug wires each have less than 300 ohms of resistance, cap/rotor are fine.... This is getting kind of expensive.... Anyone have any ideas? Anything that I should check? TIA.
