you mean the timing belt cover??? upper/lower??

if you just want to see your cam gears you can just take off the valve cover.. i wouldnt suggest taking off the cover and leaving it off.. unless you have adjustable gears its not a good idea.. i know from experience

u need to take the valve cover off
unbolt 2 bolts (maybe more hidden, i dont remember) holding the top cover
the top cover should pop out of the bottom cover

i may have missed a step...i just kept mine off since i took it off.
