Default While you were @ Expo...

Unfortunately I did not get a chance to attend Expo this year. Had my car been up and running I would have gladly attended. In any event, I finally got my car retuned after rebuilding it from a catasrophic spinning of the #4 rod bearing. New internals, new turbo, new injectors, and some c16 went a long way. Here are the Dyno graphs as well as a horrible picture of the engine bay. As soon as I get the car detailed and looking respectable I will post some decent pics... The first graph is 23-24 psi and race gas, the second was at 15 psi.. on 18psi and race gas it was making about 475 whp, the thing that impressed me most was how flat the torque curve is!

24 psi you made close to 550whp....hmmmm. What internals, turbo are you using and elevation are you at?

Internals are .5mm oversized valves, bronze valve guides, ITR cams, adjustable cam gears, titanium retainers, dual valves springs, Manley rods, CP 9.1 pistons, oem bearings with mains at honda spec and rods @ .002, as for elevation I am not too sure... I am in Eastern PA Philadelphia to more exact.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the Evan's Tuning bit... He was an integral part of the whole hp producing process, I really don't trust any other tuners in the area.

I also forgot to mention that the the limits of the turbo had been reached at the 550 whp mark on this particular setup, we had to lower the redline on the racegas pulls because the turbo was begining to stall and consequently there was a drastic loss of power at higher rpms than 8k.

The car is actually obnoxious as all hell... This is due more to the Hassport & Jimfab motor mounts I am running, all my mirrors are rendored useless and the glass to the greddy & aem uego gauges rattle against their bezels. Aside from that, partial boost or preboost is very manageable. I am running an LS tranny with a quaife so traction is not AS much of an issue to say a GSR or ITR trans. I have to get my car aligned and corner balanced then I will go terrorize the street and strip. Unfortunately I did not take my camcorder to the dyno, but it will be used for the street and strip expeditions.

Now that I got booooost, I want to go back to all motor... I am most likely selling this setup and heading back to the stock specs.
After I have some fun that is.

Thanks Nate, it always comes together fine, it's just keeping it together which is the problem.

.....I was going to say something about the power dropping off around 7800.

Too bad you won't keep this setup and get a more efficient turbo for that boost level.....

on awesome high #'s!

What did you have in mind in reference to a more effecient turbo?? I just moved from a 60-1 to the 30R to get a more usable power band... here is the old dyno graph with the 60-1

I don't have any good feedback for driving impression yet, I am having a small issue with my omni coils I recently installed, and consequently had to send the front suspension back. So as it sits there are omni coils on the rear of the car, Nuespeed sport springs and Tokiko Illuminas on the front with a fresh tie rod installation and no alignment. Needless to say before putting the hammer down the car is all over the road. Compared to the last setup(T3/60-1) it feels a little less exciting probably due to the flatter fatter tq curve. I'll report back once I get the car corner weighted and road worthy.

I am not too worried about the coilovers, their customer service is top notch and their willingness to resolve the issue has pacified me for the time being.

I trust that I have already had enough points in the past to keep the pedal from touching the floor.

I also trust that wadding the car up on the street would not make me happy. Which also keeps the pedal off the floor...
Most of the time that is

You need to find a long flat closed section of pavement and see how fast that thing goes... like a long runway.

Nice setup those numbers are HUGE
