Timing Belt
Hi -
I have a 99 Accord LX that has 103,000 that I will be giving to my daughter. The question is:
According to the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual, the timing belt is due to be changed at 105,000. However, the service tech at Honda told me that Honda has since revised their schedule and pushed this (expensive) service back to 120,000 maintenance.
> Is it OK to wait?
> Any idea how much it should run (including the water pump)?
Thanks....!

I would change it before you give it to your daughter. The timing belt is good for the engine, but a new one will be even better on your wallet. You will save lots of gas if your timing belt is in sync.

yo piano you got to remember 1 thing your odometer reading is not the same miles t-belt has on it especially if you do a lot of city driving while you are sitting at stop lites or stuck behind traffic odometer wont go up but t-belt is still running i would do it asap...as for price it depends from shop to shop city to city state to state but a t-belt kit which includes both belts, water pump, cam, balancer ,crank seals, balancer shaft sel retainer, coolant, alt, p.s belts it is around $ 550 to 650
