Well it sounds likes there's a hole or something in the exaust, so i went under there and checked it out....no holes...and all the blots look nice and snug, only thing i found was a few "hangers" off their hooks and i put em back...it sounds like it's coming from somewhere around the cat area...

i recently just installed a new tranny...worked with the linkage...maybe it damaged the exhaust pipe somehow?...other recent work ive done:
oil change
cleaned out throttle body with sea foam spray thingy....

well from my previous experience...ive heard this very same sound when i had a hole in my muffler in a previous car...i thought i had it for shure...but no holes!...ill try tightening all the bolts under there again to see if i missed onel....but anything i missed?...can a bad cat actually make that ugly noise (sounds like a rice exhaust)...it seriously sounds like an air leak....any way to find excatly where the leak is coming from? i dont wanna spend 300$ In midas i just wanna buy the part and install it myself...
any help would be greatly appreciated

 

maybe exhaust leak somewhere

 

check the flange befroe the cat fromt he head pipe it might be leaking ahead of the cat

 

i learned today that its probably the b pipe, how much do these run for?

 

The b-pipe on my 98 is rusting out like whoa already. I'd bet its an exhaust leak.

 

ya prolly your B pipe. take it to tuffy for an easy fix.

 

check your exhaust bearing.
