95 civic 5spd high pitch whine from trans
I just redid the clutch in my 95 civic and now there is a whine from trans. It happens only in late second and above gears and the faster you drive the higher the pitch so that at 60 you can barely hear it it is so high pitched. I replaced the clutch, throw out bearing, pressure plate then when the noise came I replaced the input shaft bearing and counter shaft bearing but it still does it. if it matters the old throw out bearing came out in 5 pieces and the clutch had thrown a spring. I also didn't turn the flywheel or replace the pilot bearing as it was late and noone was open to turn the flywheel.

By the description, it would have to be something related to the output shaft, diff, or axles. If it changes in relation to ground speed but not engine speed, I doubt it would be related to the clutch or input shaft.

fill it with Honda MTF, or something like redline or royal purple. don't use motor oil. and yes i know that tranny fluid is oil, but it's not the same.
