Strange starter problem after tranny swap
I have a greddy turbo'd EK ferio. D16 VTECH and Hondata with a DX manual tranny. i swapped the tranny to an EX for the shorter gears. i'm using the starter that came with this used tranny. connected everythign back to normal. now when i turn the car over... i head a rapid clicking coming from the ECU "area" but i'm 99% sure it's NOT the ecu. I did see a quick spark from the starter area... but the engine does turn over... could the starter be screwed? should i swap the starter to my original one?? need help thanks!!
Pull out the starter and put your original one back in. Make sure it's grounded too. Also make sure you're getting fuel through the injectors.
check your battery first this clicking noise happens when a battery is low and not quite enough power to turn the motor over. happens at my work all the time. if not then use your old starter.
deff. check the ground, i couldnt figure out why when i turned the key after i just put my motor back in that the fan would come on and the starter wouldnt do dick. It was because i didnt have the tranny ground hoooked up at all. Something as stupid as that had me lookin at my motor like a retard for a whole day.
kewl thanks all, thanks for the advice. I will check out the grounds again today and if everything is connected n still no start, i'll just swap out to the old starter i had.
