in the middle of a swap and need assistance 2
I just got done swapping a D16Z6 into a 92 DX Hatch(d15B7) and I go to start it and nothing happens except a clicking noise from the starter. Pull the starter off and turn the key and all that happens is that the starter pops in and out, it does not spin at all. Dont know if this electrical or just a bad starter or what. Thanks in advance for the info.

Re: in the middle of a swap and need assistance 2 (instructor74)
I am using the original one, the new swap did not come with one. But this starter worked all the way up till last friday when i parked and pulled the motor. This is also an auto trans if that makes a difference. Plus now i went back outside and tried again and the starter is not even popping in and out any more, its not doing anything. Is this definantly the starter, is there anything electrical could make the starter go ape **** like this????

Make sure wires are tight and that all grounds are good. If ground is bad then problem like this.
Also check to see if your battery is dead. With it sitting for a while and everything.
Simple suggestions though.
Also check fuses. Maybe bare wires touched ground or something.

sounds like your grounds. check and re-check all of your wiring.

went through and rechecked all wiring everything is hooked up and all grouds are solid(one off tranny to pass frame rail and one on the drivers side valve cover). Also checked all of the fuses, the only one i saw even close was some fuse called a starter signal and that one was fine. i also attempted to started while getting a jump, so i think battery is good.

Re: (Endo-land)
ya , i also hit the thermostat ground again. If its the starter then i guess thats easy enough to fix. just wanted to get it started today and make sure there were no other little stupid things I forgot.
