Whats oil do you use?
What oil to you guys use in your ITR? I been using royal purple 10w30 but i switched to 5w30 today after cleaning my vtec soliniod and it seems to pull better but it could just be because i cleaned the soliniod.

never ever had a problem with this stuff. burns only a moderate amount in my car too. (roughly .5 quart every oil change)
to the original poster though, i highly doubt your car got quicker becase you switched oils. imho, changing the oil more frequently matters more than what kind of oil you use. do some searching on the boards too. there is a lot of information on which oil to use.

agreed...I didn't believe it at first, but using olive oil in your car is so much better than regular motor oil. It makes the VTECH scream sooo much louder!!!

swap pads from cobalt vr's to axxis ultimates
kepani-who's gonna finish it off with a wash.

well this engine I just put in my car was sitting for a little over a year and i did change the oil before i started it but vtec was not hitting hard and it was not feeling very strong at all, i did have alot of varnish and such in my oil gallories and my vtec screen had some junk in it, so I cleaned it all out good, I also put some engine flush in and let it idle for 4 minutes then chnaged my oil so anyways everything was nice and clean after, that is why i think it pulls better BUT when I looked at the vtec screen i noticed how small the screen was so was wondering if maybe a thicker oil has trouble getting though the screen fast enough but i highly doubt that.
anyways i got a 99 b18c5 in my car and ran a 15.3 @ 90 mph granted i do have a big victor x intake manifold that is probably slowing it down my car should not be that slow but I think there was a difference in power so next time I go to the track I will see
thanks
Kyle

unless the canadian Rs have a c5 stamp, just stop right there.
edit: unless your motor came from canada, just stop.
