Hi everyone, i was just wondering if its normal for high milage engines to have a rough idle. I have a 98 ex d16y8 auto with 163k on it. It runs great and all but it has a harsh idle. I have just recently changed the plugs, distibutor and rotor cap, oil, and the ngk blues are about 30k miles old. Any suggestions or ideas? Maybe a timing issue? Should i adjust my idle speed? Or is it just getting old? Im waiting till it craps out on me so i can do my swap so i have to put up with this for a while.
Thanks for your time.

Backside of the intake manifold. I think its either 2 10mm or 2 12mm bolts holding it on. I cleaned my with throttle body cleaner I picked up from AutoZone.
Take off the 2 bolts using a wrench (not much room for a socket), then take TBC and spray off the 2 mesh screen things. Wipe it off with a towel and just bolt it right back up.
Rough idle like it goes from 500 to 3000 rpm?
Be careful using TBC, if you get it in the runners and it runs into the motor it'll take awhile to get the car to turn over. Just keep trying to start it if it happens.
Sorry if instructions arn't great, haven't had mine off in 4 or 5 months.

no, the idling does not go up and down its just a constant rough shaky idle at stops and such. It also shakes the car when i change gears such as reverse and back to drive again.
