Default rad fluid bottle

okay, i have a 96 accord

just need to confirm with other people on the site

if you check the rad fluid bottle, when you open the lid, is there a rubber hose/tube that hangs off of it?

Yea there is, this hose basically dumps the excess runoff of coolant from the radiator into this little reservoir.

that's 1/2 of it...

when you shut down, the coolant contracts, the vacuum valve of the rad cap opens, & u either suck in the resevoir fluid (if the hose is there) or u will suck in some air instead. if u open the rad cap & see that the level of coolant is kinda low when it's cold, put a hose back on the resevoir cap to reach the bottom of the plastic bottle. Air pockets in the coolant system is teh sux.

think of a straw in a glass... lift it above the fluid level & suck...then lower the straw down near the bottom...booyah!
