Default Misfire when letting of gas to shift

I have had a slight 'pfft' noise in my exhaust for a little while now... Before my engine swap, and now with my new engine... It seems to only happen when I let off the gas to either shift, or after I rev the engine up a bit and let off the gas... Most of the time its a faint noise, but with the newer engine, Im noticing a few louder ones every once and a while... The center section of my exhaust does have a leak... Could this be the problem? What else could it be?

ytoiu have an exaust leak ..when you let off the gas the pressure in the pipes pulls in fresh air and mixes...then you get a pop
