timing belt help
ok i have a 98 civic ex coupe, and im replacing the timing belt, and make marks with white out on the old belt switch the marks to new belt, line everything up, tighten everything down, then i put everything back together again, and when i spin the motor over the marks dont line up on the cam sprocket that i originally had lined up. the cam sprocket is lined up for tdc, and so is the crankshaft pulley, just my marks are off by like half a sprocket? shouldnt they still line up? i didnt feel the belt slip or anything, so if someone can help me out i would appreciate it!
thanks

Did you tighten your tensioner at compression, or when you lined your marks up? If your crank at tdc lines match up, and your tdc line on your cam is pointing up , then rotate and see if they still line up, if they do your all good.
yea i turned the cam sprocket like 3 or 4 teeth like they say to, then tightened the tensioner. everything lines up, so i think it is just because the ratio of gears is probly different, so it might not line up. i dont know thats all i can think of, so i guess ill see what happens! haha...thanks
