90 Accord valve gasket
I'm getting oil on my spark plugs and will be replacing the valve gasket on someone's advice that this would stop the problem. I wanted to know if I should also replace the gromits around the spark plugs and if this could easily be done while I'm replacing the valve gasket.
What I plan on doing:
1) remove valve cover
2) remove old gasket, scrape with putty knife, sand with fine sandpaper
3) place new gasket on
4) seal with Permatex 2-form A gasket sealant
5) replace valve cover
Seems simple, am I missing anything? Will the sealant ruin the engine if there is extra on the inside? The guy at the store said it wouldn't.
Feedback and advice would be appreciated since I've never worked on my car before. Thanks.

remove valve cover, take old gasket out, sometimes they stick on block ,if gasket does not stick do not sand down anything , get a small can of spray adhesive, spray a bit on valve cover groove where gasket will go put gasket in let it sit for a bit, replace the 4 o-rings thsose are the reason you are getting oil in plug holes , put a bit of sealer on the the valve cover gasket just on the curved parts not too much sealer , put a thin layer on the o-rings put all together
