They are the stock covers. I had to cut them out myself. The kit comes with template and rubber to put around the hole. Took about 1 hour to cut out and clean up! If you get one for JDMHondaparts.com, it should come with the templates and everything that you need. Yellow Dragon never took his out of the packaging so when I got it, it was like new!
my bad, I do remember seeing the templates. I kind of just installed it and put the rest aside I was planning on cutting slits on the covers to fit where the supports come out off. Maybe I'll do that this weekend. Thanks for the link.

I don't think you need to worry abotu the sound being distorded with the bar, I built a box for mine with a 12' Square SoloBeric and it sounds fine. I would only worry if you had a sheet of metal covering the sub. As they say "Bass goes through everything excet metal"

You have to trust some of us.
I had faith in you...but I haven't received the MO yet (I'm still at work and I'm not sure if my roommate got the mail). I'm glad you like it. It looks good installed with the covers cut and the decal on.

Nice doing business with you.
Yeah...I think it looks really clean. I can't wait to go to my work parking lot and see how it is going to affect my handling. Please let me know when you get the MO! I shipped my head unit during Christmas to, I think her name is Type R Chick, and it took 20 days to get to her but I think that was just because of the Christmas rush. I don't think that is going to happen here. I am sure you got it today but if no one was there to sign for it, you will have to go to the post office to pick it up. Better to be safe then leave something like that with a neighbor! Thanks again!
Those of you that used templates for your rear strut covers... what have you done with the template? I'm assuming that you probably don't need it, correct? Would anyone like to send me their's?
I have Tanabed front/rear strut bars and mine obviously didn't come with a rear cover template. I just left it without a cover. So if anyone would like to send me their cover template, just let me know and I'll glady give you my address.

I like that JDM bar because it matches with the front stock one pretty close but, the only thing I don't like is that the brackets look so weak ain't it?
I agree they do look alittle weak, almost like they will flex instead of be sturdy as it should be, but oh well.
Tababe'd GSR- if you scroll up CPR posted a link where supposedly you can print out a template.

Tanabe'd GSR - If you need the templates, I can trace the outline of my paper cutouts, and fax them to you if you find that you really need them. I can help anyone out that needs some help.
I just took my car for a test drive and I can tell you that I can feel the difference. Granted....only if you are really pushing your car but when I was taking sharp corners at high speeds my car felt more sure footed. I definitly think that it was a well worth investment. I don't understand why they didn't ship the US Type R's with this bar in place. It is a JDM honda product after all. The US always gets bent over when it comes to getting the quality products!

JDM rear Tower bar
Red Shoulder pads(that probely say Type R on them)
Yellow Dragon Being Trustworthy
It is all about taste.....You must have a PH.D.
I actually like the feel more than the look. My shoulder belt always digs into my neck.

FYI.....
The rear bar is NOT a JDM product... on the contrary it is made in the land down under and is offered as an accessory for the Type R's that were produced for their market.
Just a little fact. Food for thought
It look really good bro...

I was about to ask him about the pads....Damn thats what the haters want to see in Honda's. As Type R owners we should set standards for anti-rice. We are above that. I got the Mugen power pads for X mas....as a joke from my brother.
At least they are black, I will give them to you if you want them.

Hey, if anyone's going to bitch about anything, maybe bitch about the fact that Honda did EVERYTHING they could (within reason) to save grams on the car, yet many people just feel that they have to add the extra weight of a sub box... Put a big stereo in the house, or in the other car... R should be LIGHT!!! Just as the boys at Honda (and probably God himself) intended.
At least there's no aftermarket sunroof I guess...
Nice bar though!!! I'm a little jealous of that!
