Default OT: People are really non-observant on the roads

Well, i sold my CF hood today, and before I put my stocker back on, me and a friend decided t odrive around the road for a second to see what people's reactions would be to a car with no hood on...

Anyway...no one noticed! How can u not notice a red valve cover right next to you? the only 1 kid that noticed was some guy waiting to cross the street with the most confused look on his face as i VTEC'ed it past him lol. ah well. I need to find something constructive to do.

That's great, I sure as heck would do a double take if I saw that on the road.

people in cali do that all the time, although its usually with a hella ghetto car missing a lot more than the hood, good weight loss though now u just gotta remove those unnecessary side panels and whatnot. -rob

Is there a law against hoodless cars in any state? I'm just curious.

If I saw a hoodless car on the road with a nice engine, I'd be surprised. I'd probably do what everyone else would do. Just stare in awe.

No hood=more drag. You'll actually be slower.

hehe ah well, if anything it woudda snowed, but ucould tell it was a nice day out

Sold it cuz...

a) i was in debt
b) there weren't any REAL benefits - 500 dollar 15pound weight reduction? I'll just go on a diet
c) I had my stock hood at school, and my cf hood on the car, I didnt want to deal with having to lug home my stocker and stuff

i don't think there is a law against not having a hood, but doors and windows are a different thing.....back in high school we took the doors and windows out of my 85 civic. we then proceded to cut the roof off with a sawzall, and then drove around town. it wasw the same car that didn't have a clutch, i had to ride the starter to get it going. well, i got pulled over by a state trooper and he got all bent at me for not having doors saying i could fall out of the vehicle. i replied to this saying "what about jeeps? they don't have any doors..." suffice to say, i was handed a few tickets after that. one day i will convert some old video i have to mpegs.

Anyhow I've seen people drive around NYC with no bumpers, even bumper supports....its unsafe IMHO....

For the guy with the black ITR, try driving hoodless thru a ghetto part of town.....the car will sure scream...come steal me!

how is that different with out without a hood? driving a ITR through ghetto parts is going to get attention no matter what...and if the people know whats up the hood being there or not wont matter if they already know what would be under there anyway
