Default head gasket oil leak

first off i have a 5th gen base model. so i was driving to work a couple days ago after doing a valve adjustment, and my oil light came on. i looked under the hood and there was oil all over the cam gear side of the motor. i got it back home and found the valve cover gasket had not settled right. so i put it in right and added oil, but it still leaked oil. i put some liquid gasket on, but that still didn't do anything. did i break something driving to work? do i need a new gasket? will i need a new timing belt, since its been exposed to oil? thanks for any help.

maybe the seals for the distributor or the seal for the exhaust cam plugs. try looking around those area and replace if leaking.
