Default stock cams with upgraded valvetrain

Just wanted to know if it is possible to run jdm h22 cams with upgraded valves and retainers like Skunk2 or other performance brands. Is there any downside to it?

Should be fine..and if u ever wanna upgrade the cams in the future, u dont have to worry about the valvetrain. If u have upgraded springs and retainers u can take the rpms higher too

I dont plan on taking the rpm's higher for now. I just have to take the head to the machine shop to get new valves put in and wanted to get valve springs and retainers put in all at once. I just wanted to make sure i could use my factory cams with the upgraded valvetrain.
