Default WTF? two v-tec solenoids

I wish i had a photo to show. I have a 93 with a d16z6 with a y8 head of a 97 and it has two v-tec solenoid's side by side. What the hell? must be jdm.

there is a jdm motor that has dual stage vtec, and it has 2 vtec solenoids and it is a SOHC

there are two right on the head where there sould be one is there a benefit of two or just more crap.

a buddy of mines has a 99 gsr. and no its jot jdm... something to do with primary and secondary stage vtec.

Really? So is there vtec on both the intake and exhaust? What motor is this?

thats someone posting pics confirming that the solenoids are not from the transmission for you, and i suggest you not going around saying that unless youre that sure of yourself....

the story is that a friend need a block for a 97 and got a full motor from japan and was installed at the shop. I came in need of a head and he had it so there it is.

no, it's still only on the intake.

you have 1 cam profile for power from like 0 - 3k rpm's, then from 3-5k the first vtec solenoid kicks on, then after 5k rpms you get to the 2nd vtec solenoid for a 3 cam profile. something like that

it's the jdm d15b motor

^^^Thank you, beat me to cutting on galaxykid and proving him wrong with that pic. If he noticed the tranny solenoids have already been posted above and it has been stated thats not what we are talking about. Next he should also look at the post containing the link explain the the dual vtec solenoids and the pics above.
