a gutted cat doesnt help you there.

That's your problem. IMO, a stock cat is the only way to not sound raspy.

If it keeps you from getting on it in public, I'd say that it's the best mod you've ever done. Keep it right up .

True. The only time my car ever sees more than 3k rpms anymore is on onramps so I can merge with traffic.

One word, punctuation.

There are plenty of opportunities to get on it while not risking other people. I granny drive the hell out of my car while traffic is on the road. I only get on it at the track, or a few selective times when nobody else is around. After you get a few tickets (or wrecks most likely), you'll understand.

Also agreed, building cars is for something to do, a hobby...and if your good at it you can make money from friends on the side. But just cause I built a hatchback doesn't mean i have to get on it in pulic(the track is another issue). I built my car because i enjoy working on cars, not to sound like the ricer of the town.

Im builinding my car for something to do also, and its trail and error and obv. gutting my cat was an error according to thread, but whats the point of having a built car and never having fun once and a while you drive how you want but for me and all the other people that like to get on it once and a while we will continue to do so.......

well i baby the hellout of my car also, but here in Wi we dont have any tracks or anything fun like that available besides back roads and there would be no point in dumping a bunch money in performace under the hood, never getting on it not knowing any potential, if i wanted to do that 4 words come to mind, all show no go

right you can have fun every once and a while.....at the track. That will definitly limit you to every once and a while.

I see what you are saying, but like stated above when you get lots of tickets, you look at things differently. And as far as getting on it, yes your right alot of people do it because they want to see what there time, effort, and money has resulted in. But there is a proper time and place for it.

N E WAYS, yea your problem seems to lie with your cat. So 2 options. A. Get a stock cat. B. Try out a test pipe.

Ditto. Gas is expensive and tickets even moreso. No need to flex my 100hp chunk of metal and suspension in public when I can do it at a road course on the weekends.
