FS: 91 Mazda Protege LX 5-spd $450 in Pennsylvania
I'm selling a 91 Mazda Protege LX 5-spd w/121k miles. The LX is the top of the line model. It has cold A/C, power windows, power door locks, power steering, power sunroof, 3 new tires, 14" Mazda wheels, DOHC 1.8L engine (same as Ford Escort GT). The car is light blue with light blue cloth interior.
Timing belt, ball-joints, clutch/tranny, alternator, rear brakes, tires were all done at 100k miles. The only problem is the motor only runs on 3 cylinders. A compression check was done and cylinder #3 has very low compression (20-30psi) and the rest of the cylinders are fine and show good compression (150-160psi). I was told by a mechanic that he thinks the problem is the exhaust valve. The car does not overheat and does not leak coolant. The car runs and can be daily driven but has a rough idle and a little power loss because of the cylinder #3 problem.
