Default im doing a cam install i have ?s

i searched and didnt find what i wanted. as much as i would love to dyno tune my car the nearest place is 3 hours away keep that in mind.

so what did most ppl go with on the cam gear timing with this cam??? i am buying the valve springs with this just for safety. my ? on these is do they wear fast? and i am not planning on changing stock rev limit so do i need the retainers or no??? i heard stock ones dont wear as fast as the titanium ones. and with the

aem cam gear has neone had problems with it??? it has a 5 bolt pattern so i figure it would be ok, thanks for the help

IMO it would be stupid to have everything out and not do springs and retainers. I just did my cam and cam gear and springs and retainers and I have no complaints.

I would just do it all while you have it apart. Hell, i would slap a new Head gasket on there aswell, just to get it out of the way.

I am not forced induction yet....... And I have the same cam. I would do springs and retainers while you have it apart it is not that hard at all to do. I had mine done in 2 hours. And that was setting all of the valve lashes. You dont have to take the head off so I don't see why you would change the head gasket. Unless you feel like it. I would just save yourself the hassle and do it now instead of later. You are going to have to have the retainers out to change the springs anyway so what would it hurt to drop in some Ti ones? My AIM is joshluvsali if you need any help.

ok once again no one has answered my ? the ti retainers have to usually be replaced 15000 miles right? but the springs dont have to be replaced like the ti retainers.

did you pick the cam based on what YOU wanted out of the engine? cams change the entire behavior of the engine... how high they lift, how long they stay open... you have to consider the shape of the lobe too... if its too cone shaped, youll want a flat rocker and if its more smooth youll want a roller rocker... a roller may jump... theres a lot to take into consideration when changing the cam and cam gear... cams can adjust the powerband and when it kicks in... although on a honda anything can be done to really make more power... just cause they dont have any power to begin with
