Default B16 swap problems

First I'm going to tell you the setup I have. I have a B16A3 motor in my 97 hatch DX model. 00 si wire harness and 00 si ECU. I do believe this the wrong stuff to have in my car for the b16. Anyways here is what's happening. The car seems to idle and run fine. I let the car warm up to temperature that it's supposed to be at and stuff but vtec won't kick in. I'll turn my car off and turn it back on and go for a ride and vtec will work!! And sometimes it sucks because my car will crank and crank and crank and won't start. Then all of a sudden it will start but will be at super low idle and slowly idle up to about 1k. And it ran fine with no problems for about 3 months on that ecu and harness. Anyways should I go with a 96-98 single cam vtec wire harness and I want to go with the chipped p28 and run a OBD2a to OBD1 jumper harness.

for the B16A3 you need the del sol vtec wire harness/ecu.

not sure if there is a difference in stuff between the 2 but thats where it came from

may be your vtec selenoid goin bad

The harness you need is a 96-98 civic ex harness and you could get a chipped p28 with a jumper harness, the 2000 civic si ecu wouldn't plug in and run right unless you get a jumper harness for it.
