Analog to Digital? Wiring RSX cluster into 95 EG
I wasn't sure where to put this, but here goes.
I am buying an RSX cluster from a member on HT. I have a 95 EG and the cluster is coming from a 03 or 04 RSX.
I was looking at another thread about a guy asking about putting an RSX cluster into an EK. Someone said that he wouldn't be able to do it because the older civic clusters use analog signals that come directly from the sensors, while the newer civics/tegs/RSXs use digital signals that come directly from the ecu.
-Is it true that old was analog while new is digital?
-Will the cluster not work b/c of incompatibilities?
-Can I wire the cluster directly to my ecu?
-I heard that it was done, but I couldn't find a thread on it. If you know of a thread where someone put an RSX cluster into an older civic I would greatly appreciate it.

Nope.

It's not an RSX cluster, but the S2000 cluster also gets digital signals from a mulitplex unit. http://forum.pgmfi.org/viewtopic.php?t=4724 has some more info on that, I think he would up using a PIC to control it, with much success. Hope that helps.
