I have been having an ongoing problem with my B16a, and I am not sure what it is. First off, let me say that I am having o2 problems...but I am not sure if that's causing what's going on or not..so I want to make sure. When cruising, and now I'm noticing that when taking off I get REALLY bad hesitation. I hear a lot of little 'sputters' out my exhaust, the the car doesn't want to go. If I just give it like 1/4 or 1/2 gas...it wont go..it will just sputter and continue at the same speed. If it go WOT though it will go but seems like it has lost power. It was just doing this going at like 55-65 in 4th or 5th..but it's doing it now when I take off in 1st/2nd. Will my o2's cause this? I am getting the new bungs welded in today, and wanted to take it to the track tonight now that I'm finally out of limp mode. I'm throwing the o2 code, and another code but I dont know what it is....It looks like code 2..but when I checked the manual, no code 2. I had a couple people tell me it might be code 22..vtec pressure switch? I just hooked up an LED to my vtec light so it lights up when VTEC hits. I gotta get this soddered, but will this cause the extreme hesitation? Also, I think I might be having backpressure problems. I have a straight test pipe from the DC Headers, and it goes back to a large *** Camaro muffler (too big...the guy did it b4 I got the car though and I'm regretting it now). What would this affect, and what downsides would I see from it? How can I diagnose it and will sticking a bomb tunable on there fix it? Any help would be appreciated guys, as I am anticipating the track tonight and a healthy running car.

sounds to me like you are detonating.

 

the o2s do u have at least one hooked up? to both wires if not u might want to that if u dont get it done and reset teh ecu. when at wot the ecu bypasses teh o2 signal which is y ur not hesistating in wot but sounds like the o2 senser problem

I found that when I have my secondary 02 sensor hooked up(the sensor is bad) the car would act very strangely, it couldn't maintain a constant speed and when I put the accelorator down a little bit nothing, I put it down more and the car jerks forward and starts accelerating. I simply disconnected the secondary 02 and I am currently running only on the primary which seems to be working ok.

I think it's the 02 sensors, but make sure that your timing is correct and you don't have any vacuum leaks before you start buying 02 sensors.

 

too much fuel..get a fuel/air gauge..could be the upper O2 sensor too..if its out its telling the ecu ur not getting enough air..by now one or all ur plugs need changing

LOL. Shadup, just cuz u went to the dark DSM side, doesn't mean I have too many problems

I tried to get the GDAMN DC Sports header off so I could get the guy to welt the o2 bungs in....it resulted in 2 things:

1. I only have 1 1/2 bolts/studs holding the 2 piece together
2. I am still running like sh*t.

I gotta lube it up tomorrow after I get off work, and try to get it off again. I am not having very much luck with this, and it's getting really aggrivating really quickly. I am debating just getting one of those damn o2 simulators. The guy is going to charge 26 to get the bungs put in...+ the work and time it takes me to get the gdamn thing off...vs the $40 for the o2 simulator... Hmmm, anyone used the o2 before on a B16a with the 2 sensors? If so, how well did it work?

Ack, I put work? Lol, I meant college...lol. I'm actually thinking about selling the ol rex and getting a B18c1 put in a different one I'm thinking about buying. Hey...wanna buy a CRX? Lol, it'll kick the crizap out of that lemon that u own
