i got a 97dx with with a Si cluster.. why doesnt my fuel lite come on?

I got a 96 dx with Si cluster, and no fuel light either.

 

you seriously have to run it down past the E my 98 ex doesnt come on till im past the red line and even then wont stay on till im past the second line

same here, I've only had that light come on 2 time since I bought the car and I drop that needle WAY low every time. Just ask Luserkid, he gets scared how low I go sometimes.

 

Yeah I believe it, but I've ran out of gas before lol, maybe its the 96-98 hatches?

does the DX come with a fuel light to begin with? ::doesnt know::

Like the others were saying the light is wierd. It will come on for a sec and then shut off. And you do have to be pretty low like on the red line for it to come on.

i have had my car for over 5 years and only seen the thing turn on ONCE, and the needle was definitley under the red, it was on for a couple of seconds and then turned off, i try to go as long as I can before filling up but I still have not seen it turn on since '02

 

I have a 97 dx coupe with an EX cluster. All lights do work, including the low fuel light.
Also have an 99-00 SI cluster not yet installed, maybe I should check it. HEHE

 

My (ex) light stopped working after a few years. I actually died on the freeway one rainy night becuase of this. 96-00 DX's should have it.

 

I've got a 97 Hx and the fuel light doesnt work. Trust me, Ive ran out of gas before and the damn thing didnt come on.

Does it normally come on with the rest of the gauge lights when the key is turned over??

I am pretty sure Canadian models didn't come with one. Don't ask me why.

 

I have a 99 ex. It never came on. Even when I ran out of gas.

 

I have a 98 dx, i ran it down to test the other day, it was pretty damn low, i was getting nervous, so about around when it hit the E it came on.. Dont be shy, it should come on, if it doesnt, be prepared to have a friend bring you some gas

That's funny, cuz mine comes on often and I have a 00 ex. If I corner hard and the gas goes to one side of the tank, it could come on. And it even does so when its above the red, contrary to what has been said a lot already.
