Default I am a noob and have a question or 3

so, im a noob.....

I have a 1992 honda accord ex, the thing is butt ugly and runs great, but lately sometimes at stop lights almost dies then goes back up to about 1k rpm, and then goes down and comes back up, it never dies but its just kind of annoying and all that stuff, i have all kinds of tools and a shop that i can work at but i havent a clue where ot start.

And do you guys have any suggestions for a new suspension, the drivers side front strut sags and so it looks like im fat and making the car lean, and it is alos hell on the tires....So anywho thanks for the help

Before considering suspension i would give your alternator a good lookover, it could quite possible be that it might be time to replace it. The other things i would check are the other electric components. Im sure other people here can add more ideas of things to check.

As far as suspension is concerned, it all depends on what you want the final outcome to be, and also what the purpose of adding the suspension is, you gonna autoX or drag? or for just spirited street driving?

spirited street driving indeed..it does have 270k miles on it, so it might be time to check the alternator, im sure its not the orignal one, could it be the distributor or the plug wires. i do drive the **** out of it and i probably shouldnt, I dont know if that has anything to do with it, but yeah i will keep rambling thanks for the suggestion. Another thing is when first taking off in first gear it kinda stalls untill i push on the gas more and the rpms go up and it drives fine, its kinda hard to explain. Okay i am really done now.

before you even screw around with the alt, I would check the vaccum lines and the ICV first to make sure that there are no leaks and that that particular sensor is functional.

that could possibly be a few different things. Im sure its only one of them but you never know what it is. I would check the wires, plugs, cap, rotor, distributor, ignitor, ignition coil, there are so many possible parts.

As far as spirited driving is concerned, i would suggest something decently low. I have Neuspeed Sport springs on my Accord and i paid 140 for the set, a good price, a good brand name set of springs and a good drop. It depends what kind of budget you're working with also.

That is a recent thread where there was discussion etc... on the neuspeed springs.

I suggest you check the marketplace forums here on HT, so many vendors and dealers of parts have awesome deals on suspension parts. Good Luck.

oh, by the way, could your problem perhaps be a fuel problem? Somethng else to consider. Or even what Yeu has mentioned in the post above this one!

Any problem left untouched can turn into a huge problem later on. I suggest you sit and create a budget for this project, then gather some tools and get to peaking around in the motor compartment. Do you have a set of screwdrivers? Socket set? Volt meter?

i got a 92 accord ex and it aint butt ugly. well thats my opinion. I suggest u check ur electrical such as distributor, plugs, and stuff as some1 said and if all that doesnt work it might lead to ur alternator.

you might want to run some fuel injector cleaner through it also
and check and see if the throttle body isnt gummed up and getting stuck when you let off the gas or at least that is what my mechanic friends suggested for my car which i still havent got around to fixing yet

i say, forget about messin with your electric, the way ur describing yourself, its kinda sounding like you never touched a screwdriver. But as far as your problem goes, i have a question for you. wat kind gas are u putting in? my suggestion to you, hit it with a full tank of sunoco 93, and throw in some engine restore, and if after that its still happenin, then i'd check vacc lines, etc.,
