Sabelt 5-point harness install up on S&M racing
Since i have one Sparco Evo and one stock seat, you get the best of both worlds

Yea
Setup looks awesome!
This is the exact place I was trying to describe to you before:
I did the same thing with the longer nut, double bolts and everything. However, I put a large washer on the INSIDE of the car too just to keep the forces spread out as much as possible on both sides of the eye-bolt. This extra washer must have moved the extra threads on the outside of the car away from the heat shield just enough that I didn't have to cut any part of the shield. I also did both sides at once, since I have two seats
I like the clip in sub-belt, as mine are bolt in. Unfortunately, I don't want to fork over the $ for four clips, since mine are 6pt. Maybe I'll find it's worth it, but for now I just leave the sub belts bolted in and I tuck them under the seat when not in use.
Looks good! Don't you just LOVE that seat with the harness!!!
Rock solid!

Yay harnesses! Install was fun, but a note to those who would be so inclined to help someone else install them: if you don't see yourself purchasing your own harness in the near future DO NOT test them out. Damn it's so awesome...you can just go limp in hard corners/breaking and you aren't going ANYWHERE. A lot better than hanging on to the steering wheel for dear life
(not that Aleph let me anywhere near the steering wheel
) I gots ta get me some! But I need a roll cage first...*sigh...* Aleph--you shoulda' taken a picture of me running off with your seat

cool, i see you have 01-0910 and i have 01-0909, brothers!
very educational as usual! how do you like driving around with the harness? is it harder to look around for lane changes and pushing buttons on the radio/climate control?

Most of the controls fall readily to hand, all the important ones anyway...it's a little difficult to get into the center console (where i have my garage door opener attached to the underside of the lid), but not too painful...visibility is fine, and automatic mirrors are nice if you're not sure and you need to scope things out a little more. I can use the stock belt as well with this config (though it's not as cozy feeling, naturally), so quick runs to the grocery store don't require lemans levels of setup. Cool about 909, i wonder if 911 is around anywhere?

hehe, yeah, you really need a cage to drive 2 miles to your classes and bitch about how you can't afford to go racing anywhere
And without me, you never would have gotten the é on the end of touché! Touché that, Jâçkn0b!!!

Racer wholesale has the harnesses, for 109 per 5-point camlock...throw in hardware, the long eyebolts from OMP, an extra pair of backing plates (should have ordered these with the first round to save on shipping), and i think i probably paid about 300 for the whole setup shipped. Been driving around more today, it completely rocks...can't wait to pupoo poo somewhere

GAH! Automatic censorship is inane. I can't wait to push |t somewhere. At this point, i think automatically censoring actually makes people think of those oh so dreadful four letter words MORE, since it doesn't discriminate for spaces and such...but that's a rant for another thread, one that will get locked
