Something inside my Mugen Exhaust is rattling, what could it be???
everytime I accelarate something inside rattles, i sound like a heat shield, BUT I removed them all. What could this be and how can it be fixed. OH by the way I think its in the B-pipe not the twin loop

That's the sound of the exhaust pulses inside the manifold. At a certain rpm (3-3.5K) they create a harmonic vibration you can hear as a noise. The Spoon header does this too (I know - I've owned both). It's because the header is single walled and thin. You can't hear this noise with the stock header because it is cast metal (and very heavy)
So the noise is nothing to worry about???, is there anyway to make it go away. My car sound sso tinny when accerating, its sounds RICED out and I have the BEST stuff, it pisses me off
but thanks for the quick response Big Phatty, does anyone else have this problem??
Darth vader R, the noise was there before I install my carsound, I thought it was my stock cat so I replaced it, but the noise is still there

Try phoning King Motorsports as well - they may have some new suggestions. Last time I phoned them they didn't btw.
could this be the problem. I just recently found out that I have a 00' civic si header gasket on my 01' itr. To say the least I'm pissed off. Really pissed cause the guy who installed everything must have lost the orignal mugen one and subsitued the SI on instead. Could this be rattling??????
It's not the gasket - it's the SS header.
Both the Spoon and the Mugen make the same sound. Live with it.

alright big fatty I believe you about the header making the sound, but can you please explain to me HOW that sound is made. (I just wanna know) thanks
As the hot exhaust gases leave the cylinder head and enter the exhaust manifold - the gases expand rapidly. Because the gases enter the manifold in a pulsed fashion at certain rpm's these expanding gases will cause the walls of the manifold to resonate (which you hear as sound). Above and below this rpm range - the gases do not cause vibration or resonance. All the more reason to keep it in VTEC.
thanks, thats really weird I wonder why no one ever commented on this before

Hmmm do you think that there is anything I could do to fix the problem, I have the below mods (in my sig)
try checking the hanger right before the muffler...i had to have mine bent bacause it was touching a part under the car...
