My Engine Rev's on Idol

Default My Engine Rev's up and down

I need some help on what could be causing my engine to rev when it is stopped at a red light or in traffic. It rev below 1000 rpm and back down for less than a 30 seconds and than it stop and once I take it off gear it starts again. any ideas for what is casue it to do this.

where it this located at in the engine and can I get it new and for how much

Its on the IM manifold right behind the TB on the back of the IM, It will have 2 coolant lines and a 2 wire plug. You can get them new from a parts store they call it a "Idle Air control valve".

It might also be a vacuum leak.

or it could be your fitv. You should search about bouncing idle I'm pretty sure theres a write up on how to find out whats wrong.
