don't do it on stock struts.

i know the roads around k-zoo are crap. if you put on the springs over stock struts, you'll be doing it again before winter.

Been on S-Techs with no camber kit and stock struts for almost 2 years. No blown struts here....

Just make sure you get an alignment after it and make sure they put the camber as close to 0 degrees as possible. if thats what u want.

tein springs= major sagging!
usually in the rear over a couple of months...just my .02, had them on for 6 months and the rear went from 1.5 low to 2.75 low...looked gross!, the front all sky high and the rear like i had 12 of my closet friends piled in the back seat!

the coilovers and the springs are 2 different things!

toe as close to 0 as possible.

do it right the first time, if you're gonna get them, save up an extra few and get some tokico's, it will be worth it.

i've ridden in a car with s-techs and it's pretty nasty.

just springs
springs + struts

good luck.

I was looking at the S.Techs. Anyone have other recommendation for a cheap lowering spring? I don't want a crap spring, but the only reason I want this is because the car looks like a CRV on the stock springs. Only looking for 1-1.5" drop.

Again, I'm not looking for them for performance reasons. It's purely cosmetic. I just want to make sure it'll look good, and not ride like crap.

just find someone to cut the stock springs. if it is purely cosmetic.

save a boat load.

s.tech's were made for stock struts. some people on clubrsx.com got away with not using a camber kit, and some people needed one. it is a soft spring purely cosmestic and a little stiffer over stock.

and please, do not cut your springs. invest the money and do it right.

are the skunk2 springs any better than the s.tech's? I was looking to lower the old lady's rsx, but you guys are making me lean away from tien.

i have skunk2's on mine....

you can see what it looks like with stock or 18's, haha...thats after 2 months.....no problems....after a few laps with it stock around the autocross coarse compared to after the skunk2 springs....id say skunk2 is far more than cosmetic but thats from my own personal opinion....the rides a bit more stiff..and the stock rims show more negative camber than the wider 18's...but negative camber isn't bad for cornering still doesn't change the fact that it understeers like a MOTHER....oh well i effin love it

stiff isn't necessarily good for daily driving. it looks like it sags in the back...

neuspeed race springs, progress springs (i believe they sag as well ), tanabe springs (DF210's sag), H&R etc.

You'll be ok. I have a base 5spd like you and have the Tein S techs. I have had them on now for 8 months. Stock struts are still holding up quiet well. Your car will feel perfectly fine after you do it but go get an alignment. Otherwise thats it. Its a great set of springs.

its not sagging....the geometry of the 18's is different than the 16's....if i had 40 series tires on the 18's they would tuck just like the rears....35's are a bitch but i measured ride hieght with the 16's on about 2 weeks ago, and we were in like flynn
