Thanks to joe_r at the hybrid board, thought this might be useful to those that are 'slammed' down low....

I like the aluminum race version, a little thicker but lighter in weight.
I've actually taken the next size larger tubing with the same bend radius, cut it in half and scabbed over the lower tubes and welded it in place. Costs more but looks a little better.
to Fastline Performance for the part

It looks good. Won't protect against major impacts but looks good for the street. I wonder if this can mount on the spoon. I doubt it since it looks like it takes the place of the lower heat shield.
...there is sufficient space between the piping and the skid plate, so that during an impact the skidplate takes the grunt of the impact and not the piping directly.
Plus T6 alunimum (on the race version) is soft enough that it "gives" upon impact. It's 'sacrifical', and will get beat up, gouged, and deformed instead of the header.
I have also found that the brackets welded to the header are extremely strong - Honda definitely designed them well. You will not be dissapointed if you get one.

I think they should make it out of magnesium instead.
That way you would get mondo sparks whenever the header hit the ground. Cool!

Mondo Sparks?!?! Why would you ever want ur Integra to flash look like a DeLoren?!?! You trying be Marty McFly, hu hu hu. Admit it, the flux capacitor owns j00!
Magnesium is brittle, and would weaken too much from the radius bending.
I actually though about titanium though - that would make for some a nice fireworks display!

I wouldnt suggest that Aluminum race version on a street car .. if anyone is thinking about it that is..
aluminum really radiates heat well.. and it would not be much of a heat shield, it would probably act oppositely.....
fawkin cool products though.... how can I get them to work on my Spoon header?
weld up a bracket I guess........
*opens CAD and starts a blueprint*

I still don't see how so many folks bottom out there headers. I could see scrapping it from time to time but a huge dent you had hit hard for that. Either guys going below 1.5inch drop or coming out of inclined or going into inclined areas too fast. I have 1.5inch drop on my R with 16inch JDM gunmetal wheels with 45/215 Kumho tyres. I would not have any scrap now if I would not have hit some water that hydro planed my cars right wheel off causing only slight scrap on the header when the wheel droped off at approx. 10mph. I track and drive hard too and never done any type damage like I see everyone else with. Friend of mine said he's scraped his mostly because of where he lives so he raised his sus. up half inch and now he never touches. I believe he was doing 2inch drop before hand.
...someone here locally ran over a 2x4 that fell off a truck on the highway. He couldn't swerve in time to miss it, and just ran over it. It flattened his Mugen header like a pancake.
Granted the Mugen header is pretty thin, but it's just an example of how unexpected stuff happens and ruins your day!

...all of the plates but one I've sold so far have been the aluimum Race version, with no problems whatsoever.
One of the 2 prototypes was run on my own car for over 6 months without any problems. I saw no differences in oil temps vs the OEM lower shield, which tells me the aluminum version is not radiating any more heat than the stock shield.
It is fine for the street.
