question about short shifter
The purpose of the bushings is to replace the stock linkage bushings that have been worn, you tell if your stock is worn if there is shifter play while in gear. You dont have to put new bushings in when installing a short shifter, only if your stock ones are shot. hope this helps.
They're made of urethane, so they're stiffer than stock. It can give you a more positive shift feel. Not necessary, but they are cheap, so I'd probably do it if I was putting in a SS.
I have the neuspeed shifter bushings on my car..........it gives a more solid feel when shifting compared to the loose, gummy feeling on a stock rubber bushing.
