The benefit of a reworked chamber is unshrouding of the valves to allow the max amount of air to flow. They are only polished because they have been ground to the shiny alum and nobody wants to see an unpolished port or chamber do they?

Yes under extreme operating temps, even the rough texture of the combustion chamber metal can create points for pre-ingnition. Polishing smoothes these points out. It is most certainly NOT for "Bling" since Noone sees you combustion chambers.

your wrong.
you do know that the roof of the comustion chamber gets carbon coated very quickly right?the way i see it a rough combustion chamber will aid in formation of base carbon crystals wich is a good thing
hehe pre-ignition will not be caused by rough combustion chambers..
