and there is also the tentioner pulley. he is counting: crank 1, tentioner pulley 2, and AC compressor pulley 3.
i too am missing the tentioner pulley bolt, and i got one from Kragen, and its too short, same problem as you. i may try and guetto rig something, or go out searching for a longer bolt

i was thinking just to get a longer belt since its only the a/c and just tensioning it. but it sodd that the gsr belt will not fit on the gsr pulleys. and matto23 is saying teh exact problem, 3 pulleys which the belt wont fit on all three. any more comments please?
the pulley on top is not really a tensioner.. there is a tensioner kind of under the ac compressor.. its a long nut with a bolt on it.. you need to loosen that nut then slip on the belt.
edit: errrr.. maybe that bolt pushes up on the pulley... ill go look
edit, again: ya, nm. Im on crack. You prolly got the wrong belt or you didnt loosen the tensioner enough.

there is a somewhat long nut on the top pully. i loosen that a little and the whole pulley comes free until a certain point. but this is even not enough slack. any more ideas? am i loosening the wrong thing here. should i be loosening another pulley instead of that small one on top?

They probably gave you the wrong belt. Go to a different auto store and compare the belt they give you to the belt you have. If it is longer, install it and take the first belt back and tell them to check again cause they screwed up and wasted your time.
or before you do this, you could loosen the ac/idler pulley via that bolt under the power steering pump, and try to push the idler pulley with your hand to get alittle more room to slip the belt on.
