Default NEED HELD! Sounds bad, h22 engine chatter

Aight I was driving my car really hard the other day and on the way home I realized that my car was making a loud engine chatter (sounds kinda like a ban saw cutting into metal). It only makes it when the rpm's pass from 2200 to 2500 and then it makes a high pitched chatter at 3000, where the rpms are goin up or down it will always make that horrible metal on metal sound through every gear right at that rpm. When I went home I checked my engine oil and I was over a quart low (below the bottom dot). I think I either messed up my engine internals from redlining with low oil or maybe my tranny or clutch or flywheel are damaged. PLEASE HELP!

I would guess bent valves. It sounds like valve knocking, especially with low oil.

Could be your timing belt auto tensioner failing.

If this is the case, the noise at certain RPMs will be the timing belt vibrating.
This fault happened to my H22 and I remember thinking it was like a metallic rattling sound.

Yea thats possible but im starting to think that maybe its my exhaust and it rattles at 2500 cus thats when the exhaust system resignates the most. Maybe something needs tightening but just so weird how i could of sworn the noise was coming from my head or valvetrain.

Try greasing up all of the rubber mounts with axle grease or something. If thats where it is coming from, then my friend had the same problem. We also removed all of his heat shielding underneath there to ensure it wasn't that too.

Its still worth checking. I ALSO thought it was my rattling exhaust that was the problem
