Sorry, but I love this car to much not go give it its own thread...

Thanks Ace for taking me for a spin while you demonstrate how smooth this car is. Words cannot describe how sure footed (in the right hands) this car is.

Man, those are some great pics! Thanks for taking them!

My pleasure for taking you for a spin. I just wish I had ample life left in my pads so we really could have had some fun.

Send me an email - we can talk about getting some prints. I can't send pm's yet.

Hehehe I was wondering why I passed you so handily.

I don't think we met... but thanks for coming out and instructing! Jon D spoke highly of you!

haha... yeah, had I bothered to actually stock up on pads BEFORE the event, it would have been a lot more interesting. 50% pedal pressure really isn't a lot of fun.

My pleasure. You guys put on a great event, and it was definitely one of the most laid-back and fun ones I've ever done.

Doesn't the Elise use the Type-R engine?

Older ones did. Now they use the Celica's motor (if I remember correctly). K20 swap would be nice in one of those though

The older ones used a Rover motor (140hp + total pile of ****) so a B18c5 swap was an alternative.

Current models have the Yamaha/Toyota GTS Celica motor now (180bhp in stock trim I believe)

Not all of them use a 140hp "pile of ****" Rover.

Mine uses a 190hp Rover straight from the factory. It can easily be pushed up to about 225hp with some head work.

I BELIEVE THEY RETUNE THE ECU TO MAKE IT PUSH 190HP.

THE ONES ACROSS THE POND USE ROVER MOTORS OF VARIOUS POWER LEVELS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS.

A COMPANY USED TO(STILL DOES?) IMPORT THEM AND PUT B18C5'S AND K20'S IN THEM. UNTIL '05 THAT WAS THE ONLY WAY THERE WERE AVAILABLE OVER HERE.

Go to http://www.prototyperacing.com you can swap in the JDM Integra Type R (K20A) into these cars and make amazing power.

The Rover K is a piece of junk and the 2zzge is not much better. You should go for a spin in an Exige with a supercharged K20A....it's an experience something like the Milenium Falcon engaging the warp drive.

Why don't you ask Joe at Prototype how many friends he is making with his kit? Very poor quality from the people I know with them.

Would I love to put a K20 in my car - sure. But I don't want to spend close to $10K to do it and do it right.

There are plenty of fast cars that are even faster than a K20 SC'd Exige. The Exige isn't about having 300+hp, IMHO. I think it would be plenty fast with about 225hp. Just a bit more juice in the straights is all you need.

I wonder how much you actually know about the Rover K? Do you have a car with one in it?
