There is a cylindrical thing between the power steering fluid container and the sipstick that has a rubber cap on top of it. What is that thing? I accidently pulled the rubber cap off? Have I done something very bad?

 

that's your motor mount... i'd try put the cap back on... as best you can anyways. (:

 

I dont know how to get it back on there. The cap has this protrusion in the middle of it that is also rubber which is bigger than the hole that the cap goes over. I dont know how to get it back on there. Suggestions?

 

push on it, it will pop right back in

i accidently pulled mine off yesterday... try folding it in half so the putrusion sticks out.. then just mash it and twist it into the hole... worked for me

I don't know how valid this is, but I've seen people use a little shot of WD-40 to get the rubber handle on a golf club. Tight rubber, similar problem ;-)
