ITR Expo impressions by a former ITR owner :P

Some of you were probably wondering what the hell an STi was doing at the "ITR Expo".
I'm a longtime member here and I wanted to help make this happen. First off I want to thank Wes and all the Expo organizers for making this happen. It was really cool to see everyone from all over the US come to my po-dunk city of Omaha for some tracktime.
It was definitely nice to finally put the screen names with some faces and talk cars.Highlights:
- Migs you're a cool guy in my book. Thanks for the Gatorade! When it comes time for my next set of race tires I'll be in touch with you.
You did SO MUCH to make this Expo happen. - Jack's car continually getting pissed on
- Kendall...that was funny talking to you about ITBs with you all drunk.
You're a knowledgeable guy. - FINALLY meeting the FL/NC crew. Dave ROR, BBasso, Craig and Splat. Thanks for that knife Splat.
- Chris F's car getting tagged with blue tape. I apologize for some of the ideas (KLEINUBING, Gran Sport stripes, STi badges, etc)

- Getting my buzz on in the Holiday Inn parking lot
- Jetydosa with his "no open container violation" valve on his sippee cup. LOL!
- Double A, you'll always be my boy. Congrats on winning that sweet Fujitsubo. I swear I'll come out to your neck of the woods next time to get some tracktime.
- Budman you crazy fool...almost ran into me attempting to pass.
I hope you like the Hondata gasket. It was a good trade.
- Jan, thanks for going out on course on Sunday in the wetness.
- Albino Dragon, damn you were keeping right up with the STi...minus the straights. JK.
Good job Nate Dawg!- Larkin for bailing me out with that ATE Super Blue
- Chris N for being fast even with a Prelude. "Type ****" LMAO!
- Cheezethis and Laura, you two are fun to party with.

- Yoshi and ITRBroham...for FINALLY meeting you longtime HT guys.
I know I'm forgetting more of you guys. I just wanted to say that I had a great time!
Almost makes me want to go out and buy a '98 ITR sometime soon.

Damn Travis sorry I forgot you.
It was nice to meet you and thanks for letting me use your jackstands (however I didn't need them since my friend figured out I can bleed the stock Brembo brakes through the wheels).
Two completely different cars. However I must tell you that the STi felt very fast nearly all the time. It wasn't quite as nimble as the ITRs, but the torque feels much better to me. I was in boost for most of the course. There were only a few places I was out of boost, but the 2.5L still had enough torque so that it never felt underpowered or slow to me. The STi felt VERY fast through the straights. I don't think there were many cars there that ever pulled me on that front straightaway (I was hitting 120-125 and braking fairly early). I'm not trying to brag or anything so hopefully the ITR owners here don't take this wrong. I feel the ITR is much easier to drive to the limit whereas the STi will take a little longer. This is my first time on the track with it and I've only AutoX'd it 3 times now. I was on stock brake pads and tires and I must say I was very happy with how the car felt and performed.
ITR = Cheetah
STi = Tiger
Two different animals, but both are very respectable killing machines.

Aww ****, was that you I was pushing around the track? I "thought" it was an STi but later convinced myself it musta been an evo.

Great to see you again, Todd.
I wish I would have had more time to chat. But I anticipate coming out to MAM again (sooner than 2 years from now!), and you do owe us a visit out this way for some track time....

You're more than welcome anytime. Sorry I forgot to call you. I have a pic of your STi for you, but I'm in Chicago now, and I leave for Phoenix in the morning. I'll be back home Tuesday. Keep in touch.
